Pita Pit Canada stores across ten cities teamed together to sell $2 Make-A-Wish stars during the month of April. The Barrie, Belleville, Chelmsford, Cobourg, Collingwood, Kanata, Kingston, Orleans, Sudbury, and Wasaga Beach stores set a lofty goal of raising $10,000 so they could adopt a child’s wish, and the stores surpassed their goal raising over $12,000.
Following the fundraising, Pita Pit learned they would be adopting Alison Vallier’s wish. Alison is a 9-year-old leukemia survivor who just finished three years of cancer treatment. Her wish was to go to Disney World, and with the help of Pita Pit Canada, her wish will be a reality.
Pita Pit organized a scavenger hunt with nine businesses is downtown Kingston to reveal to Alison that her wish was coming true. As Alison travelled from store to store, she received clues and a gift from each store that she could use on her trip. The hunt ended at Pita Pit’s National Training Schedule where Alison’s friends and family announced to her that she would be going to Disney World.
